Catherina was born in Augsburg (Germany). At a young age she started painting - and never stopped. Her college degree in architectural drafting and her artistic work in the Roman Museum of Augsburg gave her the sense for details and precision.
Traveling through India and Nepal and many other countries triggered inspiration and imagination.
In 2006, love carried her to Fredericksburg (Texas). Fredericksburg is now her primary home. But she spends much time at her places in Canada (Crystal Beach), Mexico (Oaxaca) and Germany.
Art is a way to express feelings. Catherina paints those feelings that evolve as a result of watching and experiencing her surroundings. Her paintings show a world beyond the surface.
Catherina has a fascination for eyes. Painting expressive eyes in all shapes and colors is her speciality. She loves attending her beautiful flower garden. Could that have something to do with her painting flowers with curious eyes like in the painting "wildlife"?
"I like a world of harmony and try to portrait that world in my paintings" she says, " I surround myself with beautiful things in my home and life to maintain a positive and happy outlook at life".
